Surf with Chrome!

September 25, 2012 by Brad Trivers

If you have a computer then odds are that you access the internet using a “web browser”. A web browser is needed to access any website – like Facebook or Gmail or Hotmail.  Examples of web browsers are Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.  Right now the fastest way to surf the internet is using the Chrome web browser from Google.  That is why Chrome has been the world’s most popular web browser since roughly March 2011 (see http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp or search for “browser statistics”).

Use Chrome - not Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari

There is no doubt in my mind that you should use Google Chrome to have the best experience exploring the web.  However the problem is that Microsoft’s Internet Explorer comes installed by default on every Windows PC, and Safari is the default for every Apple computer.  Also from Feb 2009 until March 2012 stats show that Firefox was the web’s most popular browser.  So this means there are lot of people around that still use Internet Explorer or Safari because that’s what was given to them, or Firefox because they are just a little out-of-date.  If that’s you then here is how you can start using Chrome.

  1. Open up your current browser and go to the following link: http://google.com/chrome , or just search for “download chrome” (using Internet Explorer download Chrome – intuitive eh?).
  2. Click on the “Download Chrome” button and follow the instructions.  It should only take a few minutes.  If you want instructions then just search for “how to download chrome“.

Now, it can get tricky when doing this sort of install, so if you aren’t 100% comfortable then have a friend or relative that is somewhat computer savvy walk you through it.

I guarantee that once you start using Chrome you will be amazed at how much faster and better your web surfing experience is!
