Lobster Carnival

June 11, 2010 by Karen Trivers

Sunrise Solutions sponsored the “Rubber Ducky” entry in the 2008 Summerside Lobster Carnival Cardboard Boat Race.Chris Gilfoy and his team of Tony Hancock and Craig Williams did a phenomenal job of building this giant likeness of a rubber ducky – over 11 feet long by 6 feet wide and 6 feet tall!

For more pics and info see Chris Gilfoy’s Facebook album and this Journal-Pioneer Article.

All the work paid off as the boat was the overall crowd favourite by far and won the “Best Decorated Boat” award. Also Rubber Ducky came in a very close second place in the race. Although the Rubber Ducky was likely the fastest boat, the competition took a short cut under the dock to get to the ribbons faster and won by less than 4 seconds.

Special thanks to Chris Gilfoy and his team for building this fantastic work of art.
